About us

The Glendale Fire Cadet Program was created to serve the community while teaching and growing future firefighters. This volunteer program contributes in community events, fire stations, and much more.

The City of Glendale Cadet Program is a partnership between volunteers and the Fire Department to assist the community in various areas. This program will require cadets to donate a minimum of 24 hours per month. Various classes and training given during the program will be included as time donated for that month. Cadets will not be involved in active firefighting or any other activity requiring the use of self-contained breathing apparatus.

A brief list of things the cadets do on a regular basis:

  • Visit and ride at assigned fire stations
  • Assist in community, school, and other events
  • Meet monthly for one meeting and one drill
  • allowed to perform EMS skills (Must have valid EMT and permission from Captain)
  • occasionally help at large events ex. Super bowl
  • Much more
